Fill up to fight invasives
#invasivesbucketchallenge

This spring, the Hamilton County Invasives Partnership is working with local partners to encourage citizens to “fill up to fight invasives” with an invasives bucket challenge.

Special HIP buckets with invasive garlic mustard information are available for free from the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District in Noblesville and other participating partners while supplies last.

The invasives bucket challenge is a new program launched as part of Hamilton County Invasive Species Awareness Week which runs April 16th-23rd.  Volunteer opportunities to take part in an invasive species workday Weed Wrangles on public property can be found on the HIP website, www.hcinvasives.org.

How to participate:
  • Get a bucket (your own or one of ours)
    • Hamilton County SWCD - 1717 Pleasant St. Noblesville, M-F 8-4:30
    • City of Fishers Weed Wrangles - 4/23 from 10-12 at Cheeney Creek or Ritchey Woods. More info and registration here.
    • Noblesville Parks and Recreation - buckets will be available at Dillon and Forest Parks around the time of Weed Wrangles at those properties. Participants are encouraged to use the buckets at the property, snap a photo, and leave the buckets for the next users.
  • Fill your bucket (any bucket or bag) with invasives and snap a photo
    • Not sure what to look for or how to control it? We've got info here.
    • Not sure how to dispose of your invasives?  Find some great info here.
  • Post the photo to your social, tag us (@hcinvasives) and use the hashtag #invasivesbucketchallenge
  • Challenge your friends and neighbors to do the same by tagging them as well!
Posting photos with the hashtag and tagging us during Invasive Species
Awareness Week (April 16-23) enters you to win prizes!

Prizes include:
  • Hamilton SWCD native tree sale free trees and discount trees
  • Noblesville Parks and Recreation Family 4 Pack to Carousel Corner
    • Includes 4 unlimited ride/golf bracelets, 4 ice creams, and 4 drinks
