Weed Wrangles are held across Hamilton County throughout the year.  They are often hosted by parks departments, homeowners associations, churches, or local environmental or community groups but hosting and attending Weed Wrangles is open to all!   Registration is required for events and more information about Hamilton County Weed Wrangles can be found below.

What's a Weed Wrangle?
Weed Wrangles ® are volunteer invasive species removal events hosted nationwide to control the invasive plants that are negatively impacting our public parks, green spaces and natural areas. Weed Wrangles® are led by experts and include and education and hands on component.  Volunteers will learn how to manage the targeted invasive species and get to work as part of a collaborative effort to improve a natural area. 

Weed Wrangles® are often held repeatedly at the same location for two reasons. First, invasive species management takes time. Unfortunately removing these species is not a one and done approach. Second, returning to work on the same site lets you see the impact your efforts are having in the ecosystem. 

Being part of a Weed Wrangle® is a fun way to learn, meet new people, and make a difference in our environment!

Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation - World Environment Day at Hazel Landing Park

The health of our environment depends on a careful balance of native plants and wildlife. Invasive species disturb this balance and can cause significant harm to habitats. Help us combat invasive species by coming out to remove Asian bush honeysuckle, Bradford pear, and other invasives from Hazel Landing Park. We will finish the event with an exciting activity the entire family will enjoy!

Dillon Park Weed Wrangle

Volunteers will work in teams to identify, cut, drag and flag invasive honeysuckle, burning bush  and autumn olive. Please wear long sleeves and pants, and closed toe shoes. A hat, sunscreen, bug spray and your own water is recommended. Tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorites, if you like.
Meet at the parking lot on Edenshall Lane that is next to the playground.

Great for groups and clubs, a large number of volunteers are needed to join the Keep Fishers Beautiful Initiative a Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve (RWNP). Volunteers will pull invasive Mustard Seed throughout the park. Work gloves and trash bags will be provided. All ages and abilities are welcome to join. Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Cheeney Creek Cleanup

Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
